Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his staff are currently exploring the possibility of raising a bill in the Knesset to further delay the new public broadcasting corporation from going on the air at the end of April, subject to agreements with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, according to the Haaretz financial publication the Marker.
Netanyahu is seeking to thwart the construction, but sources close to Kahlon officially declared on Wednesday that he firmly refuses a further postponement. It was recently reported that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is expected to demand that Netanyahu soon relinquish the communications portfolio, due to the links revealed between him and the controlling shareholder of Channel 10, Arnon Milchan, who has told police about expensive gifts to the Netanyahu family.
