The Ministerial Committee on Legislation endorsed, Sunday, a bill by Knesset members Uri Maklev and Moshe Gafni, which would stop the practice of counting the first day of an illness against an employee's sick leave although the worker is not compensated for it.

Similarly, the bill calls for only half of the second and third days to be counted against an employee's sick leave since a worker is only compensated for half a day.
