The Israel Defense Forces placed a new watchtower between the Samaria Jewish community of Beit El and the neighboring Palestinian Authority village of Jilazoun in the last few days.
A senior officer says the pillbox is one way of fighting Arab terror in the area, which has included shooting and the launching of explosives, burning tires and rocks at Beit El during the past year. Another step is the deployment of soldiers at significant points of friction.
