Amona residents issue clarification of previous letter

Amona residents agreed to issue a letter of clarification emphasizing their commitment to a peaceful eviction; following the letter, new plots are to be allotted today.

"In our letter this week, we expressed disappointment in the conduct of the government in everything pertaining to the application of the Absentee Property Plan which would allow Amona to remain on the hill. According to the agreement, the government promised to act immediately towards the establishment of 52 structures on the Amona hill for the local residents. The plan was delayed, therefore we expressed disappointment and suspicion that the agreement had been breached.

"Despite our disappointment and what was said this week, it is clear that we are obligated to fulfill our unconditional obligation to the Supreme Court from December 22, 2016 for a peaceful eviction of Amona without violence, confrontation, or opposition. Without connection to this obligation, we continue to expect that the government acts to apply the Plan as quickly as possible," they wrote.
