The Agriculture Ministry announced on Thursday that avian flu has been discovered at the moshav of Ometz in the in Emek Hefer Council region, east of Netanya.
Ministry staff is taking steps similar to those taken elsewhere in recent weeks to prevent the spread of the malady. While the disease is not harmful to humans, the ministry stresses the need to cook poultry products well.
