The Environmental Protection Ministry has opened a criminal investigation against the Israel Electric Company, following last week's appearance of an oil slick measuring hundreds of meters near Ashdod, containing dozens of cubic meters of oil, according to Yediot Ahronot.
The ministry ordered an immediate and complete closing of the company's Ashdod oil pipeline until further notice.
