The terrorist who was arrested Monday evening on suspicion he committed the shooting attack two weeks ago in Istanbul confessed and tied himself to the Islamic State terror organization on whose behalf he acted.
IS said the attack was in retaliation for Turkish operations against the organization in Syria. Istanbul's governor said that the terrorist told investigators that he went through training in Afghanistan just before the attack.
