The Consumer Price Index remained unchanged in December 2016 compared to November 2016, according to figures released on Sunday by the Central Bureau of Statistics. In contrast, the index excluding energy but including housing and produce increased a tenth of a percent.

Noteworthy increases were recorded in clothing and footwear (6.5 percent) and fresh vegetables (4.6 percent). Going down were fresh fruits (3.6 percent) and culture and entertainment (1.8 percent). The overall index for 2016 decreased two tenths of a percent. Based on the trend data for the period between September and December, the annual pace of increase in the CPI was three tenths of a percent.
