The Ministerial Committee on Legislation delayed by three weeks, Sunday, discussion of a bill to decriminalize cannabis due to the objection of Public Safety Minister Gil'ad Erdan.
The bill, sponsored by Member of Knesset Sharren Haskel (Likud) would make the penalty for possession of the drug for private use 300 shekels at home and NIS 1,500 in public with no jail time.
