1,226 smuggling attempts to Gaza thwarted in 2016

Patrols and Shin Bet agents at the Kerem Shalom Crossing into  southern Gaza succeeded in thwarting 1,226 smuggling attempts of illegal materials into Gaza in 2016.

This is a 165% increase in thwarted attempts compared to 2015.
