    7.3 earthquake off the coast of the Philippines

    An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck southeast of the Philippines island of Jolo on Tuesday, according to the US Geological Survey. The tremor was measured at a depth of 617 kilometers (380 miles).

    There were no immediate reports of injuries. A quake measuring 4.9 was recorded on Monday with other tremors above 5.2 recorded last month.
