With some exceptions, classes at Israel's public schools will start at 9 am on Tuesday.

The announcement came following a labor-court hearing into a request by the Education Ministry and the Treasury for a restraining order against an 11 am start of classes by the Histadrut Hamorim teachers union. The compromise was proposed by the Forum of Community Parent Councils after the ministries and the union failed to reach agreement on deductions from teacher salaries.
