(AFP) - Senegal defended, Sunday, its sponsorship of and vote on a resolution at the United Nations Security Council against Israel's presence beyond the 1949 Armistice Line, after Israel decided to recall its ambassador to Dakar and to suspend aid to the west African nation.
Asked about the aid suspension, Government Spokesman Seydou Gueye said the government had not yet been officially informed of the decision, adding, "When it is informed of such a decision, it will issue a response." He did not comment on the recall of the ambassador.
