Retired general Rafael Vardi passed away Saturday night at the age of 94. His funeral is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 3:00 in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery.
Vardi's last position was head of the personnel branch and he served in a number of public capacities after that. He lost his firstborn son in the Yom Kippur War of 1973, and is survived by his wife and three children.
