Hundreds of family and acquaintances came to Kfar Vitkin on Monday afternoon to pay their final respects to Doctor Omri Nir and his son Ilai, who died of injuries suffered in a hiking accident on Friday.
Reporter Udi Segal, a friend of the family, told those in attendance that Omri's attempt to save Ilai was not just fatherly instinct, that he would have done it for anyone. Ilai saved the lives of a number of patients through the organ donations that his mother asked to make following his death on Sunday.
