Residents of Beit Meir announced that they plan to sue police for damages from the fire that ravaged their community if the government won't take responsibility and compensate them for damages.

According to Reshet Bet, after it became known that the fire had erupted as a result of a flare shot by police, residents of Beit Meir are demanding that they be eligible for compensation from the tax authority.

34 families have still not returned to their homes in the community due to damages from the fire.

The tax authority has said that, as of last night, information has not been received from the police and firefighter investigation that will enable a decision with respect to compensation.
