An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit China's far western region of Xinjiang on Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. On Monday, a moderate 5.1-magnitude earthquake shook a county in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
