A Health Ministry report, released, Thursday morning reveals serious data on the gap between the periphery and the center of the country in the areas of patient mortality, medical staffing and the number of hospital beds.
According to the report, the ration of physicians to the population in Tel Aviv is twice that of the north. The number of hospital beds per thousand people in the population is 1.35 in the south, compared to 2.41 in Jerusalem.
