Supreme Court President Miriam Naor and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked reached and understanding, Sunday afternoon, that a bill to require a simple majority on the Judicial Selection Committee for the election of Supreme Court justices will be delayed until April.
The two met against the backdrop of a letter from Naor to Shaked, last week, in which the High Court president said she would not consult with the justice minister because of the bill. Currently, a nominee to the Supreme Court needs the approval of seven of the nine members of the committee.
