Employees of Israel Natural Gas Lines stopped their maintenance work at the Israel Electric Company's Eshkol power plant, north of Ashdod, on Thursday. The workers claim INGL is unwilling to compromise in its efforts against a collective bargaining agreement.
The plant is on a planned shutdown because of the scheduled maintenance. As a result of the job action, the facility will not be able to return to service by the scheduled November 3rd deadline.
