Minister Yuval Steinitz called, Thursday, for a comprehensive law to authorize Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. Speaking during a visit to the Netiv Haavot neighborhood in the Judean Jewish community of Elazar, Doctor Steinitz said a qualifying community would contain "a number of households and not a single structure, it is a long-standing community built several years [ago] and the construction was done with the explicit approval or support of the government [at the time]."
The Likud lawmaker stressed, "Destruction is an absurdity that affects the citizens of the country who have built their houses in good faith, as well as potential Palestinian claimants who will never gain anything from the destruction."
