Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman told a reception for soldiers without relatives in Israel, Tuesday morning at the Defense Minister's Sukkah in Tel Aviv, "I do not really like the term 'lone soldiers' because you are not alone. A whole people embraces you and loves you. Our door will always be open to you and we will do everything we can to make things easier during your service and the period after you're released."

Liberman also said, "You are a shining example of the realization of the Zionist vision of immigration to Israel, defense of the homeland and settlement of the land. Many of you are serving, by choice, in the Israel Defense Forces' elite units. Some of you are new immigrants, some of you are volunteers from abroad and some of you were born here in Israel - sabra, but you all have one thing in common - the willingness and readiness to contribute to the State of Israel and protect its citizens at all costs."
