Report: Israel suspends entry for PA officials in Gaza

The Shabak Israel Security Agency has cancelled the ongoing entry permits to other parts of Israel of 12 out of 14 senior officials in the Palestinian Authority's Civilian Affairs Administration in Gaza, which mediates with Israel on the entry permits and bringing construction materials according to Haaretz. A number of the officials are from the Fatah faction of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

An administration spokesman estimated that the move marks the start of Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman's policy of bypassing the PA and dealing directly with the Arab public. The ISA said every case was examined on its merit. An ISA  statement added, given the terror groups' exploitation of people receiving entry permits, the ultimate responsibility rests with them. It also note an enormous rise in the granting of permits since the Protective Edge counter-terror campaign of 2014.
