A number of Jerusalem streets leading to Mount Herzl will be closed to the public as of 6:30 am on Friday because of the funeral of Shim'on Peres. They include Bayit Vegan, Derech Hazikaron, Farbstein, Herzl Boulevard from the String Bridge Junction until Holland Square, Ish Shalom and Shmuel Bait in the direction of Mount Herzl. Cars parked on these streets will be towed.
Also closed will be the following streets, which will be used by VIPs to get to the funeral: Agron, Bezek, Gaza, Ha'ari, Hanasi, Hecht, Herzog, Jabotinsky, Ramban (to the Hotel Junction).
The streets will reopen after the funeral, when the many participants have dispersed. A police hotline (110) will be available for the public's questions.
