Former prime minister Ehud Barak responded, Monday morning, to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's note, in a radio interview, that Barak was ousted by the voters after just over a year in office, according to Israel Defense Forces Radio.

Barak said, "Regarding the success of prime ministers, the matter will be judged by historians, not by people with vested interests like Netanyahu, nor by commentators. I'm not afraid of the judgement of history. Like Rabin in his day, I viewed sitting in the prime minister's chair as nothing more than the ability to change the reality through deeds and not through speeches - even if the price was a shortening of my term."
