Chief Rabbi David Lau strongly condemned attacks on Kiryat Gat Chief Rabbi Moshe Havlin, one of the brokers of the deal for drafting Chabad students into the IDF.
"Even when rabbis have disagreements, there are ways to have them - violence is definitely not the way," he said.
Extremist haredi factions have called Rabbi Havlin a "traitor" and "informer" for his role in the draft agreement.
