Yehudit Samuel, mother of Moran Samuel, described her feelings upon receiving the news of Moran winning the medal in the Rio Paralympics in an interview on Galei Yisrael.  Moran won a bronze medal in the 1,000 meter single sculling event three days into the competition at Rio.

Moran grew up normal and had been a member of Israel's national basketball team until the day in 2006 when she suffered a debilitating spinal stroke and became paralyzed in her lower body.

Yehudit described her emotions at hearing the good news of Moran's winning the bronze medal as something as powerful as delivering her first child.  "We could find no words for it, none of those around us or in the Jewish communities in Brazil or in the amazing crowd that gathered around us."
