The Likud Secretariat, headed by Minister Yisrael Katz, on Tuesday approved by a large majority a series of measures that reduce the level of control of Prime Minister and party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu when it comes to management of the party apparatus.

The Secretariat decided, among other things, that senior party officials such as CEO and department heads will serve in their positions for up to eight years. In addition, recruitment of new employees or contracting with external entities will be made with the prior approval of the Secretariat.
