The Knesset Finance Committee approved an across-the-board cut of NIS 469.2 million (about $124.3 million) from the 2016 budget, Tuesday afternoon. The cut constitutes seven tenths of a percent of the budget.

Approximately the same amount was transferred to a number of programs aiding the Arab, Christian and Ethiopian sector, Holocaust survivors, school security, security in eastern Jerusalem and assistance to communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as costs associated with the delay in the breakup of the Israel Broadcasting Authority.
