Former defense minister Moshe Ya'alon said, Tuesday, that he intends to run for public office in the future. The former chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces quit the government and the Knesset this year, after Avigdor Liberman was given the defense portfolio to bring the Yisrael Beytenu party into the ruling coalition.

Speaking at a medical conference in Jerusalem, Ya'alon said he has set up an organization to provide him with platforms of public activity until the next elections. He said when those elections are declared, he will have to decide whether to run as an independent or join what he called "additional forces".
