On Wednesday morning, President Reuven Rivlin held a working meeting with President of Togo Faure Gnassingbé, who was visiting Israel.
President Rivlin spoke of the cooperation between the two countries and of Israel’s experience and ability to assist Togo. He said, “Our ability in agriculture, together with our technological capabilities has led us to many achievements. I know the great efforts you are making in these fields and we are proud that of the many Israelis who are investing in your country.
President Gnassingbé thanked the President for his warm welcome and noted his excitement at visiting Israel. He added, “The people of Togo admire what Israel has achieved, an admiration shared by many nations in Africa and around the world.” He added, “This is not my first visit to Israel, yet on this trip I have visited a wide range of places across the country. I am moved and inspired anew by your infrastructure, and by the growth that I have seen, and I know that this is not to be taken for granted.”
