There will be a strike at public hospitals on Thursday to protest the lack of promised budget supplements to fund additional staffing in the public health system. Also at issue is Health Minister Yaakov Litzman's intent to ban doctors who head departments from engaging in private medicine.
The hospitals will operate on a Sabbath schedule. Surgery and other treatments of a non-emergency nature will be delayed.
