About 300 Hamas security prisoners have started a hunger strike and violence is feared, following action by the Prisons Service to disperse 256 Hamas members from two prisons among other facilities, according to a Thursday-morning report by Channel 2 Television. Authorities fear violence.
The Prisons Service action followed receipt of intelligence that the Hamas members were directing terror activity from their cells. Cellular telephones and other security information were seized.
