Member of Knesset Oren Hazan reacted to a report of his being ousted from the Knesset State Control Committee by saying, "It's not the first time that a Likud leader who dares to express an independent opinion for the public good has been beheaded. He cited a number of ministers and deputy ministers in parallel situations.

Hazan also said, "It's not surprising and make no mistake: it happened hours after I exposed the bluff of public broadcasting in the Economics Committee and announced that a free public broadcaster is the lifeblood of democracy."
