Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to remove Member of Knesset Oren Hazan (Likud) from the Knesset State Control Committee, after Hazan expressed support for a state inquiry into the government's handling of 2014's Protective Edge counter-terror campaign in Gaza, according to a Tuesday-night report by Channel 2 Television.

According to law, the State Comptroller can recommend an inquiry only if there is a majority and Netanyahu cannot count on the Jewish Home representative voting against an inquiry because of statements made by party leader Naftali Bennett. Therefore, the Likud is expected to announce on Wednesday that Hazan will be replaced by a more obedient Knesset member who will not vote against the prime minister.
