The United States began to bomb Islamic State targets near the Libyan city of Sirte on Monday, at the request of Libyan's unity government. Libyan leader Fayaz As-Sarraj said the attacks will be limited to the Mediterranean coastal city and its suburbs. He did not say how long they would last.
