Britain's Channel 5 Television has pulled an episode of the animated children's series "Fireman Sam", originally aired in 2014, in which a character slip on what appears to be a page of the Muslim holy book, the Koran. An outcry arose after the episode was seen in the video-on-demand department of the station's website.

Hit Entertainment, which produces the series, apologized on Wednesday, saying the page was not supposed to be identifiable. Hit Entertainment said it would no longer with the animation studio that was responsible and is investigating further.
