Local journalists said blasts heard at Mogadishu airport were two bombs, reports BBC. At least one was detonated by a suicide attacker near a checkpoint, they said. The blasts were followed by sounds of gunfire.
Unconfirmed reports indicate 7-8 security guards were killed at the checkpoint.
Terror organization al-Shabab has claimed credit for the attack.
