Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, Monday, that the cabinet discussed Gaza terror tunnels eight times before the Protective Edge counterterror operation in 2014. Speaking with military reporters, he based his claim on a review of cabinet discussions in the 18 months leading up to the fighting.
Netanyahu said instructions for dealing with the threat were discussed by the cabinet and when he toured the south. He said that while it appears impossible to keep Hamas from re-arming, if there is another conflict, "the other side will pay a heavy price."
