A 16 year-old Afghan was arrested on Sunday in Germany, after evidence emerged that he had been in contact with the 18 year-old gunman who shot and killed 9 people in Munich.
The 16 year-old had chatted with the gunman over Whatsapp, and was clearly aware that the attacker had a Glock 17 gun.
"This chat, and questioning as a suspect, has shown that the Afghan met the gunman directly before the gun attack, at what was later the scene of the crime," German senior public prosecutor Thomas Steinkraus-Koch explained to a press conference in Munich.
The two teenagers met and became friends last summer, while receiving psychiatric care.
