Judge Karen Miller of the Jerusalem Magistrates Court rejected, Sunday, a police request to bar a minor arrested last week from going up to the Old City's Temple Mount for 15 days.
Police detained the youth near the Iron Gate, a day after the expiration of a distancing order against him. When a lawyer from the Honenu legal-aid organization arrived at the station, officers said the youth would remain in custody on suspicion of breach of public safety because of questions he asked them. He was released a few hours later, and at Sunday's hearing, Judge Miller ruled that there was nothing in his questions to justify the charge, noting the minor and officers were alone when he asked them, and rejected the police request.
