On Thursday, Kuwait passed a minimum wage for maids, at 60 Kuwaiti dinars ($198) a month. Kuwait has the second-highest number of domestic workers in the Gulf.
In 2015, Kuwait's parliament passed a law giving domestic workers a weekly day off, 30 days annual paid leave, and a 12-hour working day, with rest.
