Chairman Avi Dichter of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee said, Wednesday evening, that the French initiative for an international summit on the Arab-Israel conflict won't succeed.
Speaking at a Likud party gathering, he noted that between the Arab plan of 2002 and the French initiative, there was the "Roadmap for Peace", which was supposed to produce a peace agreement in 2005. Dichter called the French target of 18 months "totally detached from the facts" and from the Middle East reality. He said the initiative's chances were empty because there's nothing in them.
