A new initiative in the IDF is designed to reduce the beaurocracy religious girls face, by streamlining the proccess of receiving army exemptions. Today, girls who want to do national service need to interview at the Rabbanut, before taking their paperwork to the military draft office to arrange for an exemption.

The new plan will allow the girls to submit their paperwork via a representative of their high school, who will cover all the bases in bulk.

Some officials, however, are worried that schools who want a "religious" reputation will pressure their students not to draft, causing a drop in the number of religious girls completing military service.
