The Knesset Committee for Work, Welfare, and Health unanimously passed today a new budget that will raise the monthly stipend for 550 children whom receive medical care for at least three months, such that they cannot continue their education most days of the week.
The initiative is designed to help parents whom have to miss work to care for their sick children. It will raise the monthly stipend from 2,561 shekalim to 4,487 shekalim, a 175% increase.
The plan is estimated to cost some 12.7 million shekalim a year.
