The Foreign Ministry reacted sharply, Sunday afternoon, to former minister Tzipi Livni being summoned for police questioning during her visit to Britain on suspicion of war crimes during the Cast Lead counterterror operation in Gaza at the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009. The summons was cancelled after diplomatic pressure made it clear that the Zionist Union Member of Knesset has immunity.
The ministry expressed concern over the summons, saying Israel expected different behavior from a close ally like Britain.
