The law, designed to prevent foreign interests from pushing their own agenda in Israel, mandates that any NGO which receives more than 50% of its funding from foreign sources, must report those sources on its website and advertisements.
4 German MPs turned to MK Nachman Shai in a letter: "We are concerned that the legislation would deeply damage the...reputation of the Jewish and democratic state of Israel. We are worried that one of the results of this legislation will by an increase in acts of violence and harrassment, and are already receiving reports to this effect."
