MP Pat Glass becomes the latest to resign from the shadow cabinet, after just two days serving as shadow education minister. This morning, Labour Party head Jeremy Corbyn refused to resign after an overwhelming vote of no-confidence from his party.
Tom Watson, deputy leader of the party: “Everyone needs to calm down and try and prevent a civil war in the Labour party. We should not rush into a leadership contest that would be irreversible.” Watson would become caretaker leader if Jeremy Corbyn resigned.
