The US-led coalition against ISIS carried out 16 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria yesterday (Monday), Reuters reports.

The forces are on their fourth day of an intensive campaign, as fighter jets take off from an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean before carrying out their strikes.

Rear Admiral Bret Batchelder, the commander of the USS Harry S. Truman strike group, said: "We're getting the job done."

There is no information on civilian casualties or on measures taken to avoid harming non-combatants.
