UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has removed the Saudi-led coalition that is fighting in Yemen from its list of government forces that are guilty of grave violations against children, Associated Press reports.
The Saudi Arabian ambassador to the UN, Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, says that "the removal is unconditional and irreversible," though Ban noted that the United Nations will review the coalition's actions.
Last week, the UN released a list of 1,953 youths who were killed or injured in Yemen in 2015. Al-Mouallimi, however, says that the figures are "wildly exaggerated."
